Average Minutes Per Listener
Average Minutes Per Listener is a measure of retention. It tells you how long, on average, audience members spent with your show over a given day, week or month.
It calculates the Listen & Watch Time for your podcast divided by a deduplicated Verified Audience number per day/week/month and per platform. Note that this is a podcast-level metric, not a sum of episode-level values.
Common reasons for fluxations in this metric include changes in publishing cadence and changes in episode duration. If you publish fewer or shorter episodes, you may see your Average Minutes Per Listener decrease. Also, a large influx of low-engagement audience members (via marketing and promo) can temporarily depress this figure.
